The fae were walking past my window,
On this dark autumn night.
They made me forget the hard times past,
And return, they just might...

To boost nursing, state puts limits on gifts of formula

This is great! I'm happy to read that there is growing dissent among the public about the integration of corporations with the medical field. Plus, anything that will encourage moms to breastfeed is great in my book.

Good Question!

Thanks Izzy!
Actually, I do have one of Beanie at that age. (of course!)
This is my favorite one of her at Christmastime 3 years ago. The funny thing is, she still sticks her top lip out like that when she knows she's being cute! LOL

My Elemental Child

I took the girls to have their picture taken yesterday, since I had my MIL and SIL to help me. They turned out great, but I just *love* this picture of Rayn. And, my mil pointed out something about her name - it is basically elements strung together. Aeryn Rayn Selander = Air & Rain, Sea, Land-er
How cool is that for a beautiful Goddess baby?

Did President Bush Break the Law?

I just got this in my inbox - I signed.

----
Have you heard that George Bush is using the National Security Agency to conduct surveillance on American citizens without the consent of any court?

This is specifically against the law. Bush says political appointees in the Justice Department outlined the legal authority to get around the restrictions in our laws and the Constitution, but those legal memos are classified.

I just added my name to a formal Freedom of Information Act request to see these documents. We need to know if the president broke the law, and where this administration thinks the line of its authority is.

You can sign on to the Freedom of Information Act request here:

Thanks!

So now I *can* be a born-again virgin!

From my favorite guy at Slate, William Saletan's column, Human Nature:
The latest rage in cosmetic surgery is virginity restoration. Business is booming in "revirgination," i.e., hymen reattachment. Cost: $2,000 to $5,000. Unmarried immigrant women are getting it to avoid family disgrace by hiding the fact that they've lost their virginity. Married women are getting it (along with vagina-tightening surgery) to thrill husbands on their anniversaries.

Um, no thanks. One deflowering is enough for this lifetime, methinks.

Thanks

Thanks for all your comments regarding Xmas. I appreciate them. I think we're going to try Medusa's idea about the "gold, frankincense, and myrrh" suggestion. :)

If you haven't read this....

If you haven't read this article in Slate, you really must. It's about Bush's comments regarding a convict's plea for clemency (in other words, to save her life) when he was governor of Texas.
