The fae were walking past my window,
On this dark autumn night.
They made me forget the hard times past,
And return, they just might...

Getting a life?

We made it home from Phoenix! The trip was very nice, and it was great to see Dave's folks and grandparents again. Rhiannon did great, and the long drive went really well.

I just got home from seeing "O", the Cirque du Soleil show at the Bellagio!! A friend of mine was given *awesome* tickets - absolute center, 13 rows from the stage - so she chose to take me rather than her husband. Lucky me! It was so amazing, I can't even describe it. The music, the costumes, the dancing, the acrobatics... wow! Whoever dreamed that up has a whole different way of thinking than I do, because it looked like somebody's dream or fantasy world. I was literally blown away. And I'm so lucky I got to see it, because we would never be able to buy tickets, so it was a fantastic opportunity.
My lovely friend Shonna's husband is one of the musical directors (Shonna, it rocks!!), and the music is just incredible. It's all sung in this different language, so it's sort of like an opera where the songs are in Latin, only everybody in the audience is on equal footing, since nobody knows what they're actually saying. I don't know if that makes sense... basically, I didn't feel foolish and ignorant for not knowing what they were singing about!! LOL So it was a beautiful theatrical performance, but not at all intimidating for me, who has never really seen live theater.
I'm just blown away. It was AWESOME!!!! I need the CD now, because the music was just incredible.

I got to see "O"!! Yay!! :D

Ok, back to work. :)

Oh Jodi :D WOW I didn't know you'd just seen that!!! I'll get you the CD, no problem (Steph can grab one since he's one of the musicians LOL) want a program as well? Let me know!
I'm SO glad you liked it - sounds like she had house seats, those are truly the best in the house and that you wouldn't have missed a thing - the sax, some of the keyboards and the crumhorn (medieval woodwinds) you heard was Stephane and from where you were sitting facing the stage, he'd have been on your left side in the musician's booth there by the percussionist :) The only one with facial hair ;) LOL
The show's breathtaking, I've seen it a million times (worked there through creation and the first 2 years it was open) and it still rocks my world, and that openning curtain......*sigh* well......I've seen how it's done and it still steals my breath.
I'm SO SO SO glad you got to see it and that you liked it!
I'll have him pick up some goodies for you soonest :D
XOXOXO
Shonna
