The fae were walking past my window,
On this dark autumn night.
They made me forget the hard times past,
And return, they just might...

Happy Solstice!

And Happy Anniversary to me! It's our 4th this year, which is pretty hard to believe. We had a nice day, Dave was off work so we hung out and had some good family time. He took Rhiannon to Home Depot so she could pick out a walking stick, then he cut it down to size, stained it, and put some beads and feathers on a tether to go through a hole he'd drilled in the top. She helped with some beads, and the whole thing looks really awesome! She loves it. She picked up this stick off the ground during a little hiking break on our trip home from Phoenix, but it gave her splinters so I had to toss it. She has been asking for it ever since, so now she's really happy with this replacement one. She was watching Quest for Camelot recently, so she kept saying "I'm Garrett!", since he has a staff in the movie. She's also been running around with plastic bowls on her head (aka her "helmet"), and saying "I John Smith!", thanks to watching Pocahontas 100 times. For dinner we ordered Outback (curbside pickup) - Yum! We ate and watched Lemony Snicket with Jim Carey - Rhiannon had already seen it with Daddy while I was at O, and she reassured me it was not scarey.

This evening we all went out in the hot tub, and afterward I was just sitting out on our patio, just soaking up the great vibes. The full moon was out, and just beautiful. Then a cloud formation appeared in the sky - it was a perfect profile of a pregnant woman, complete with large breasts, slightly upturned neck and face. Wow! I was blown away. A Goddess image if I've ever seen one. It was beautiful, and really made my evening to get a little message that She's out there, and it really spoke to my "mother" self right now.

Blessings to all, and I hope everyone has a magical evening. :)

Getting a life?

We made it home from Phoenix! The trip was very nice, and it was great to see Dave's folks and grandparents again. Rhiannon did great, and the long drive went really well.

I just got home from seeing "O", the Cirque du Soleil show at the Bellagio!! A friend of mine was given *awesome* tickets - absolute center, 13 rows from the stage - so she chose to take me rather than her husband. Lucky me! It was so amazing, I can't even describe it. The music, the costumes, the dancing, the acrobatics... wow! Whoever dreamed that up has a whole different way of thinking than I do, because it looked like somebody's dream or fantasy world. I was literally blown away. And I'm so lucky I got to see it, because we would never be able to buy tickets, so it was a fantastic opportunity.
My lovely friend Shonna's husband is one of the musical directors (Shonna, it rocks!!), and the music is just incredible. It's all sung in this different language, so it's sort of like an opera where the songs are in Latin, only everybody in the audience is on equal footing, since nobody knows what they're actually saying. I don't know if that makes sense... basically, I didn't feel foolish and ignorant for not knowing what they were singing about!! LOL So it was a beautiful theatrical performance, but not at all intimidating for me, who has never really seen live theater.
I'm just blown away. It was AWESOME!!!! I need the CD now, because the music was just incredible.

I got to see "O"!! Yay!! :D

Ok, back to work. :)

Redemption

Ok, I have to get on here and say that Dave redeemed himself and totally took care of the van so that it got fixed today already! So we are ready to go to Phoenix in our own vehicle, and the brake job was "only" $500 as opposed to the previous estimate of $800. So, yay, I suppose.

I'm psyched about getting my Sabbat candles out into local occult shops around town next week. Let's hope I get some wholesale orders, that would be awesome. I also have another deal in the *possible* works with a spa, so that would be great, too. I need to start selling these babies!

I'm considering going off my sleep strike (after 2 nights) - Dave wants to leave here by 5am!! Gads! So I may try to go to bed earlier than 1 or 2 tonight...

I'll check in next week again! Have a great weekend!

On strike

I'm on a sleeping strike. I'm sick of going to bed and laying there for hours, or getting woke up and laying there for hours, or getting up with Dave's alarm and laying there for hours. Do we have a theme??? So forget it, I'm only going to go when I'm damn near passed out.

We're supposed to go to Phoenix this weekend, since Dave's folks are out there house-hunting. Actually, they already found a house, so that's cool. His grandma lives there too, so it's supposed to be a family weekend. His parents got us a hotel room for Sat. night and everything. However, the only snag in this little plan is that the brakes in the van went out (or are grinding so bad it's not safe to drive). We had it in to get the a/c fixed, and they wanted to do it for like $800, so Dave said he'd do it himself. Well, he tried and couldn't get the rotars to fit on a seal or some damn car thing, so he gave up and was going to take it in. Well then my friend's husband, who works on cars all the time, gave him lots of sources to find the right ones. So Dave waits until TONIGHT to go look and see if he can get them. Guess what, they don't have them. Then he waits until 11:00 TONIGHT to ask me what time we're going to get up to take the van into the shop in the morning. ??? Um, maybe you should have mentioned this so we could have taken it in TONIGHT so I wouldn't have to get Bean up at the crack of whatever to take it in before he has to go to work. So now the van's not going to get done in time, he refuses to do it at all anymore, so now we're going to be paying for BOTH the brakes in the van PLUS a stupid rental car to spend umpteen stinking hours driving to Phoenix on Sat. Yay.
I'm pissed. And of course he's pissed at me for being pissed at him. Whatever. Get your freaking act together instead of screwing around all damn night playing video games. We were just sitting here!! We could have taken it in and been done with it. So yeah, there's really no point in going to bed, since I'll just lay there and fume. I have too much work to do to lay in bed anyway.

grrr.

---- UPDATE ----

So I go to bed sometime after 1am - and get woke by Dave's ASS shortly before 5. The guy was ripping it louder than hellfire, and my earplugs were no match for that. Of course, this is all an hour before his alarm goes off, and I'm still laying there at 5:30, so I just got up. It's pointless, I tell ya!

more grrrr.

Glow Diva Candles online!

Well, I accomplished another major milestone. I've finally launched the website for my candles, GlowDivaCandles.com. I have a lot more products to add already, but I'll just have to do another launch as soon as I can. I'm thrilled that the candles are out there, and hopefully the site will start generating some interest in them. Please pass it on, since the only advertising I can afford at this point is word-of-mouth! LOL

-------

In personal news, things have been going pretty well. The baby is doing great, now we're working on finding a name for the wee one. This was tedious for Rhiannon, and it's proving to be no less so for this one! I keep coming up with the names, and Dave keeps crossing them off. She will have a great name in time, I'm sure. I'm having fun looking, too, of course.

Rhiannon pooped in the big potty for two days in a row now!! What a relief! She's been trained for #1 for a long time, and has even been staying dry all night. So I stopped buying the Pull-Ups for her, but then she found a bunch of regular diapers that still fit, so she would ask to have one of those on when it came time to go. My friend gave me these *huge* cloth pull-up training pants last week, so I finally told her "no more baby diapers!". She had the choice of the "poopy pants" or the potty, and she HATED the pants - "I don't like poopy pants"! The look on her face when she had them on was priceless. I had to turn around because I was going to bust out laughing, she looked so funny with them on. She decided she'd rather go in the potty, so yay!!

That's all I can think of for now... I'll hopefully be back soon. :)
