North Las Vegas Police Take Down Possible Suicidal Suspect Boy, I feel safe!
This happened at Craig and Simmons, which is *right* by my house; we're talking separation by a few backyards. Sheesh!! They think the guy wanted to commit suicide by cop; he was brandishing a shotgun out the window of his pickup, and fired at the cops when they showed up. He then took off (down Craig Road, where I do all my shopping!), and they ended up ramming him into a wall to get him to stop. Craziness. Hi Jodi, I'm Carmen, friend to Diva; just checking out her links and found your page....Vegas, huh? I LOVE LAS VEGAS!!! And so does my 5 year old. He asks me almost every day if we can move there. He's been once, for our wedding in 2003, and just fell in love with the place. He wants to be a cowboy and have a daycare center on his ranch just out of town...I think if he can pull it off it could be pretty successful!
I hear you about feeling unsafe in your neighborhood...we live pretty close to Modesto, CA. home of Scott Peterson, the Cary Staynor thing happened near us, Charles Ng just down the road, Russian mobs dumping bodies in our lake, just last week a marine commited suicide by cop just a couple of towns over....people are freaking nuts!
Anyhoo, I'll have to tell August that I "know" someone who actually lives in Las Vegas. He'll be thrilled!
We try to get over there about once a year though haven't since the wedding, so this summer will have to happen. Trying to get Diva to have her 40th birthday party there......

If you get out this way, you will definitely have to let me know! I love living here (we moved here from OR in July, 2003); it is different, but I *love* the sunshine. And outside of The Strip, it's pretty basic suburbia.
